Welcome, Welcome!

We are stoked that you’ve come to this page! The process for signing up to volunteer with us begins with filling out a new volunteer application form and registering on our volunteer managements platform by clicking on the red application button .

On filling and submitting the application you create an account on Better Impact, which is our volunteer management site, and you will receive an email to login and sign up for an upcoming orientation spot on the calendar. Also take a moment to look around and read the onboarding documents that will await you when you first login and become familiar with the platform, configure your account profile, name , contact info as well as any relevant certifications, prior experience, areas of interest and availability.

Orientation spots are generally available on most Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at 830PM at the same time that the rest of the cohort arrive and begin patrol prep which takes about an hour. With prep and orientations completing at about the same time the cohort is split-up into teams of of 4-5 volunteers, balancing medics to outreach, gender, age and experience with the community … we hit the streets until late. At the end of the night we aregroup at the office, put everything awy and spend about 20 minutes debriefing or completing patient care reports as necessary. By the time we’re done it’s typically between 1230 and 100am.

After your orientation and first patrol night, you will be added to our group chat which we use to coordinate our operations, and your account on better impact will change from prospective volunteer to active volunteer unlocking your access to sign up for all future patrols and events with which we are engaged.
